コール·ノートン 2021年制作 四曲屏風「生命流転」展示
古代とそして現代の生き物、植物、人々の脈々と続く生命は、変化し、 広がり、次の命へと繋がって進化してきました。屏風の各面は、<太古の鼓動>·<人間>·<涅槃>·<心>と異なるテーマを持ちながらも、互いに繋がり、共に物語を紡ぐ大作四曲屏風「生命流転」を表は日本画、裏を水墨画で描き上げました。
青梅黒沢に越して5年目、四季を通じて観て、描いてきた花々、自然、人々。移り変わる四季の身近な花々の美しさや、人々の心に潜む光の ような美しさを描きたいと願いました。このような時期だからこそ、身近 に潜む美しさに目を向け、心休まる時間になれば幸いです。 -コール·ノートン

「明歴々露堂々」ー屏風・日本画・銀塩写真であらわれてくるかたちー
2021年7月2日(金)〜9日(金) 東京九段耀画廊にて
この度、市ヶ谷駅・半蔵門駅近くの九段耀画廊様にて、個展「明歴々露堂々」をさせて頂く事となりました。
コールの現在制作しております屏風、日本画、水墨画と、同じモデルさんを見つめ、フィルムで写真で捉えた銀塩写真の作品とで展示をさせていただきます。
ゆったりとした会場で、大きな作品を前にゆっくりとして頂けましたら幸いです。
また、期間中は、展示の全作品の画像が表示されますし、オンライン３Dでの展示も予定しており、閲覧先はこちらでもお知らせさせて頂きますので、興味があれば、イベント出欠欄に「興味あり」として頂けましたら、情報更新の通知が届きます。

■「展示名の言葉は禅からのものです。この前後は出品者ノートンご夫妻が和尚さんから語られたとのことです。世の真理は最初からありのままに存在しているが、それに気づくか否かです。出品作家のお二人は、常に自分の心に潜む己の陰を探し求め、作品での表出を願っています。彼らの心象を作品群から垣間見たいと願っています。ー耀画廊 富田光明(作新学院大学名誉教授)」

in Yoh gallery, Tokyo from July 2nd to July 9th, 2021
We are showing works of mineral pigments painting, nihonga, the folding screen, Byobu, and ink wash painting by Cole Norton, and film photography works by Aki Norton.
The show is in the gallery in downtown Tokyo, Chiyoda Ward. If you happen to be in Tokyo, please stop by. We will show all the works online during the period as well, so even you are not around Tokyo, you can enjoy the artwork!

"The word for the show originated from Zen. It was given to Cole and Aki from a Zen monk as encouragement when they moved to Japan four years ago.
The word suggests that the reality and truth of the world are always manifesting right in front of you, it depends on you to see it or not. The artists have been seeking this and wishing for it to manifest in their artwork. I wish to see their landscape of the mind from their artworks."
